Week 15 Weekly report from your PCSO YOU SAID… WE DID… – Wallerscote Road 7.5‑Tonne Restriction You said… Residents reported that the 7.5‑tonne weight limit on Wallerscote Road, Weaverham, is regularly being ignored by heavy goods vehicles. We did… A joint patrol was carried out with a Roads Policing Officer in direct response to these concerns — Fixed Penalty Notices were issued. We also liaised with United Utilities today, providing them with the official Prohibition of Commercial Vehicles Over 7.5 Tonnes (Except for Access) map for Wallerscote Road. United Utilities will now circulate this to all contractors. Further operations will be planned. Where appropriate, Fixed Penalty Notices may be issued for: Thank you to everyone who continues to report concerns — your information directly helps us target problem areas and keep our communities safe. Safer Internet Day – Tuesday 10th February 2026 Smart Tech, Safe Choices | Talk, Think, Check Today I delivered a whole‑school Online Safety session at Cuddington Primary School as part of Safer Internet Day 2026. The pupils showed superb interaction and behaviour throughout — fantastic questions, brilliant listening, and thoughtful ideas about staying safe online. Well done Cuddington Primary School! Sandiway Primary – Internet Safety Continues! Tues 10 Feb 2026 Pupils at Sandiway Primary School continued their in‑house Internet Safety programme today. Their teachers delivered fantastic sessions focusing on AI and the importance of being kind online I then provided additional learning on: Pupils created a confidence ruler, marking their knowledge before and after the session — a brilliant way to see understanding grow. Seeing their confidence rise was a great reminder of why these refresher sessions matter so much. Parking Patrol – Sandiway Primary School This afternoon I carried out a parking patrol around Sandiway Primary School after concerns were raised about unsafe parking during school collection time. Several vehicles were seen parked on yellow lines and across the pedestrian crossing walkway. As parents arrived, I prepared to issue tickets — however, after giving road safety advice, both drivers were polite, apologetic, and moved their vehicles immediately. The school has been updated regarding today’s patrol. When the Mini Police met PD Honey… As a special request before I leave the force after two decades of service next month, I invited PD Honey and her handler PC Allinson to visit Weaverham Primary Academy — giving our Mini Police an unforgettable experience PD Honey is a highly trained specialist search dog able to detect: Just before visiting the school, Honey had been working in a field on an active enquiry — so this visit was a well‑earned treat! In the Year 5/6 classroom she: Such an intelligent, gentle, beautifully trained dog Moments like this are why the Mini Police programme is so special. A wonderful memory as I close this chapter of my policing journey Parking Patrol – Weaverham Primary Academy I also completed a patrol around Weaverham Primary Academy this afternoon. One driver was relocated from the zig‑zags and was extremely polite and engaging Previous enquiries for yellow lines at the Keepers Lane / Forsters Avenue junction were declined to keep the junction free, especially due to heavy school traffic from three schools during peak times. A reminder: enforcement can only take place when an actual obstruction is witnessed — for example, when a pram, wheelchair user, or pedestrian is forced into the road. This must be evidenced by the attending officer (photos / BWV) Lovely Engagement at St Mary’s Thank you to St Mary’s Weaverham for a lovely morning of engagement with both younger and older members of the community. And thank you to the “little people” for the kind message — it was very much appreciated. PCSO Michelle | ||
